Kansas City Metro Planning Internship Fair

  • University of Missouri - Kansas City (UMKC) Katz Hall, 5005 Rockhill Road Kansas City, MO 64110 (map)

In partnership with the planning programs at UMKC, KU, and K-State, KCAPA invites students to attend the annual Kansas City Metro Planning Internship Fair to connect local planning students with planning practitioners and agencies who are interested in offering internship or employment opportunities this summer and beyond.

Internships can be paid or unpaid with approximately 20-40 hours per week at public agencies, private firms, or non-profit organizations. Undergraduate and graduate planning students will gain valuable work experience, develop strong relationships with planning professionals and mentors, and contribute to the organizations.

If your firm/agency is interested in participating as an employer, please contact jlange@kcpublicschools.org by Friday, February 21 for more information and to submit an internship fair application. Each year, the internship fair attracts 20-30 undergraduate and graduate students. Employers are typically able to interview 10+ students during the fair, maximizing your time at the event. Over the last few years, not only have employers found strong internship candidates, but also full-time and contract positions have been filled due to connections made during the fair. We look forward to seeing you at the internship fair and thank you for your support of our next generation of planners!
